Dr. Mohammed Abuelkhair
Former Head of Pharma, Medicine & Medical Regulatory Section, HAAD

He founded the Pharma/Medicine and Medical Product Department at the Health Authority in Abu Dhabi. He was the Head of Drugs and Medical Products Regulation Section and Chair several committees including Abu Dhabi Pharmacy and therapeutics Committees;Continuing Pharmacy Education Committee and Alternative and complementary committee,Pharmacy Council, Vaccine Committee and Allergy and Asthma committee. He founded the drug information and poison control center in Abu Dhabi. Dr.Mohammed won the ArabHealth Award in 2005 for excellence in pharmacy services. His major area of research is in drug safety and rational drug use. He is a frequent speaker at national and international conferences.
 
Dr Nigel Umar Beejay
Consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist

Dr. Nigel Umar Beejay is a Physician Executive (Gastroenterologist) with 20 years extensive clinical experience and in depth knowledge of global health care systems (US/UK/Canada/KSA/Middle East). His management skills include leadership, exceptional communication skills and team building. He is highly skilled and experienced in Gastroenterology, Medical Informatics, Quality and Patient Safety and is Chairman of the Health Information Management Division at SKMC, Abu Dhabi (managed by Cleveland Clinic). He attended medical school at University of Cambridge and universities internationally in London and Boston and Toronto. Before coming to SKMC Dr Beejay practiced in London for the NHS for 6 years as Lead Consultant for Gastroenterology/Endoscopy. Dr Beejay has a degree in hypnosis from University College London and regularly teaches advanced endoscopic techniques including capsule endoscopy and colonoscopy internationally. Training Program at St George's Hospital, London, Dr. Beejay regularly teaches advanced endoscopic techniques internationally.
 
Dr Rana M Ibarahim
Pharmacy Practice/ Clinical Pharmacy Lecturer

She earned a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from Wayne State University, Michigan, USA in 2001 (1996-2001) which is a 5 years internationally accredited program, and a Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from University of Florida, Gainesville, USA in 2008 (2005-2007) which is a 3 years internationally accredited program as well. Throughout her Doctorate of Pharmacy degree, Dr Rana extensively studied 9 semesters where each semester concentrated on a specific body organ and clinical disease. In order  to graduate from the Doctorate of Pharmacy program she had to finish 32 CPA’s (Clinical Practice Assessment) which requires me to complete a 1 year clinical residency.Dr. Rana did her residency in various clinical settings at Bluewater Health Community hospital in Sarnia, Ontario; London Health Sciences Center in London, Ontario; Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, USA; and Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Florida, USA. She evaluated, monitored, and participated in the drug therapy selection for many patients in the cardiac care, Hemodialysis, Psychiatry, and palliative care settings mostly. During her career, She worked as Pharmacy manager at Rite Aid Corporation in the USA for 5 years. During such time she was actively involved in changing the pharmacy profession from pure dispensing to patient centered care. Dr. Rana was involved in many disease prevention presentations, healthcare education and counseling, and many health promotion activities. She have been employed at the University of Sharjah, College of Pharmacy on a two-year renewable contract since August 2008. In this matter, She would like to highlight some points in my profile focusing on the following three areas.
 
Dr. Rani Khatib
Senior Lecturer and Pharmacist at the University of Leeds, and Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, UK

Rani Khatib is a senior lecturer practitioner at the University of Leeds, United Kingdom. His education and training activities include various health care professionals at postgraduate and undergraduate level, including pharmacists, nurses and doctors. In addition to his well recognized national an international general clinical pharmacy experience, he is a a highly specialist cardiology pharmacist at the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust in the UK. Rani is an independent pharmacist prescriber with direct responsibility for providing pharmaceutical care to patients in primary and secondary care. He is part of the Cardiovascular Research Unit, a committee member of the United Kingdom Clinical Pharmacy Association, and the European Society of Cardiology Science Committee (The Council on Cardiovascular Nursing and Allied Professions). Rani is well published, with several books and publications in professional and peer-reviewed journals.
