Diplomas and Certificates

The Summer Symposium not only provides great opportunities for networking and professional growth, but also the ability to expand your coaching education. Check out the number of Diplomas and Certificates being offered throughout this two and a half day event:

Special Topics Diploma: Team Preparation   •   Special Topics Diploma: Attacking Principles of Play

  NFHS/NSCAA Professional Development Certificate   •   Meulensteen Academy 


*Validation Process: proof of attending the required sessions must be obtained at the end of each identified diploma session. After attending the identified session, please make sure to have your validation card stamped outside the session room to be considered validated. Once you have met the requirements for the diploma of your choosing mail it back to the NSCAA National Office. Your diploma will be mailed to you after the Summer Symposium.

NSCAA Special Topics Diploma: Team Preparation (PURPLE)

Description: The Special Topics Diploma: Team Preparation will give coaches an in depth view of how to prepare their team for the upcoming season. This diploma will focus on topics such as team building, nutrition, communication, and health and fitness.


RequirementsAttend a minimum of six (6) of the identified sessions along with the session identified as "MANDATORY" and complete the validation process to obtain this diploma.

Special Topics Diploma: Attacking Principles of Play (GREEN)


Description: The Special Topics Diploma: Attacking Principles of Play will reinforce the attacking principles of penetration, support, mobility, width and improvisation, creativity and surprise. All sessions will be focused on how to create training sessions for your team centered around these attacking principles.


RequirementsAttend a minimum of six (6) of the identified sessions along with at least two (2) of the sessions identified as "REQUIRED" and complete the validation process* to obtain this diploma.

NFHS/NSCAA Professional Development Certificate (ORANGE)

Description: The NFHS/NSCAA Professional Development Certificate allows high school coaches the opportunity to earn a certificate endorsed by both the National Federation of High Schools and National Soccer Coaches Association of America. This option also provides high school coaches a broader range of educational opportunities, as well as allowing them to keep up to date on ever-changing topics and new developments. 

Requirements: Complete one of the two available options. 

1) Complete the online NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching Soccer online course http://www.nscaa.com/education/online/high-school-coaches

And 

2) Attend a minimum of three identified sessions at the Summer Symposium. One of them must be the session marked "MANDATORY' for NFHS/NSCAA Professional Development Certificate. (Online certificate of complete and Summer Symposium validation process* must both be completed to obtain) 

OR 

1) Attend a minimum of six (6) of the identified sessions along with the two (2) sessions identified as "MANDATORY" and complete the validation process* to obtain this diploma.
