Visitors vs Staff - their rights and your rights

 We listened to you!

ACS receives many telephone inquiries from our members asking about their rights and responsibilities when dealing with relatives and visitors of residents and clients who present challenges and on occasion display threatening and hostile behaviour.

The reality and impact of an unsafe work environment will no doubt impact on your business or service delivery.
Here are some questions to consider:
• How much will it cost the organisation when the front line staffs handle the situation badly?
• What kind of bad publicity will that bring to the organisation?
• What real and hidden costs for a stressed workforce in terms or sick leave, stress leave?
• What impact will it have in care delivery with a poor morale workforce?

To assist you in managing these difficult situations ACS has developed an afternoon seminar which is an introduction to a new ACS training course which comprises:
1. A seminar to identify the legal implications
2. A practical, positive skills-orientated workshop to handle these situation before they escalate

On the day, you will have the opportunity to meet the course facilitators and discuss your concerns.
