Kenneth Fine

Ken Fine has over 22 years experience in the design and development of class II and critical class III electro mechanical medical devices and equipment. His major areas of expertise include electrical and software design for medical systems; high reliability, low power medical electronics; implantable device and ancillary equipment; real-time control software; medical software development processes and quality systems; international and domestic quality standards; FDA GMP, new product development and product improvement management.

Ken holds an MS in electrical engineering from Northeastern University and a BS in biomedical engineering from Boston University.

Michael Goeringer
Principal & VP of Operations,
Arc-Tronics, Inc.






Michael is the Vice President of Operations and one of the Principals of Arc-Tronics, Inc.  Arc-Tronics is a family run Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) company founded by his father, Conrad Goeringer, in 1972.  Michael has helped lead the company to be certified to: ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 13485 standards and is in the process of AS9100 certification.  Arc-Tronics is an ITAR registered organization.

Michael grew up working on the assembly line at Arc-Tronics.  In 1991 Michael received his Bachelor of Sciences in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois-Chicago.  In 1995 he received a Master of Business Administration degree from Roosevelt University focusing on International Finance.

Michael currently sits on the Technical Marketing Research Steering Committee and the EMS Steering Committee of the Interconnection of Printed Circuits (IPC).   In addition, he sits on the Medical Product Outsourcing (MPO) Symposium Conference Advisory Board.
John Purlee
Director, Global Sourcing
Abbott Diabetes Care




John is the director of global sourcing for Abbott Diabetes Care.  Abbott manufactures and distributes blood glucose meters and strips worldwide, with revenue over $1.1 billion.  John is responsible for developing supply chain strategies, supplier selection and managing the majority of supply chain activities supporting three global manufacturing sites.  John has been with Abbott for over 10 years with 14 years prior experience in supplier and inventory management at Johnson & Johnson and Acuson Corp.

Dave Robson
Vice President, Development
Ximedica
Dave is the primary point of contact for many of Ximedica's clients and works closely with development teams to scope complex technical development programs for the most effective and efficient outcome. Dave's extensive experience in medical device product development, in both capital equipment and sterile disposables, includes positions with Genzyme Biosurgery, Deknatel, Niche Medical, and DHD Healthcare. Dave holds a BSME degree from the University of Rochester.

 


Andres Rochwerger
Global Sourcing Manager,
Boston Scientific Corporation



Andrés Rochwerger has 15 years of experience in operations and supply chain management with a strong focus on contract manufacturing relationships in the medical device, electronics and industrial sectors. Since joining Boston Scientific Corporation in 2003, he has been responsible for managing the operational relationships with key corporate suppliers; he has led several outsourcing programs and continues to facilitate co-development initiatives. Within Boston Scientific, Andrés is a champion for best practices in sourcing management for medical product outsourcing.

Andrés received his MBA from Queen’s University in Canada and holds a BS in engineering science from the University of Toronto. He has also received diplomas in project management and negotiation and dispute resolution.

Timothy Schmidt
Vice President,
Capstone Partners, LLC








Tim is responsible for the research and business development efforts within the specialty products industry group. He comes to Capstone with 16 years of management, marketing and finance experience and has spent most of his career serving as a trusted advisor to middle market business owners.

Prior to joining Capstone, Tim worked at Trudeau & Trudeau Associates where he developed new clients for the firm’s investment banking advisory services. Tim focused on closely held companies in the medical device, electronic sensors & controls, and radio frequency & microwave components sectors. Prior to that, Tim managed the business development efforts for Emerson Investment Management, a boutique investment advisor catering to high net worth individuals. Before Emerson, Tim worked for Charles Schwab & Company where he was a founding member of the investor education department and the vice president and branch manager of the Cambridge, Mass. investor center.

Tim received a master of liberal arts in finance and a bachelor of liberal arts in social science from Harvard University Extension School. He is registered with FINRA and is qualified as a general securities representative.
