**Due to popular demand, the submission date for abstracts (1000 words) and artefact summaries (250 words) has now been extended until 30 September 2017**
The Scientific Committee invites abstract submissions for consideration in the Design4Health 2017 Conference program.
Authors are requested to review the instructions on this page before preparing and submitting an abstract. Please note, to commence the submission process you are first required to Log In by clicking the above Log In button and registering if you are a New User.
Abstracts will be considered for oral or poster presentations. Abstracts accepted for an oral presentation will be delivered in a traditional 20 minute academic presentation (15 mins plus 5 mins for questions) or in a Pecha Kucha 20x20 presentation format where 20 images are shown, each for 20 seconds. The images of the Pecha Kucha presentation will advance automatically. The speaker spends twenty seconds talking about each slide. Poster presentations will be presented as a display item along with a poster session during which all poster presenters will stand with their poster to give delegates and presenters the opportunity to discuss work. All accepted poster presentations will be required to prepare an A0 poster in a portrait orientation that will be on display for the duration of the Conference. Abstracts will also be accepted for Artefact. These submissions (i.e., artefact and posters) have the option of including an oral presentation if desired.
Abstracts (1000 words) or Artefact Summary (250 words) must be submitted by 30 September 2017 in word document format as per the templates available below, presented in English and be a piece of original work. Encore or previously presented abstracts will not be accepted. Text should be entered in upper and lower case. Please do not type abstract titles or text all in capital letters. These submissions will then be blind peer reviewed and either accepted or declined with reviewer feedback and eligible for one final submission. Final resubmissions are due by 10 October 2017.
**Please Note** You will not be required to write anything beyond this abstract for inclusion in the Conference program. However please note: Registered delegates who present their full papers at the D4H Melbourne conference will be invited to submit their paper for peer review to the Design for Health Journal. Submission of your paper to the Design for Health Journal does not guarantee publication in advance of such review.

Abstracts will be peer reviewed and all those who submit will have the option to review other submissions that do not pose a conflict of interest.
Abstracts will be reviewed within a two week turnaround from the date of submission.
Upon acceptance, those presenting a Pecha Kucha or Poster presentation will be required to submit their final work by 31 October 2017, as per the below templates. Instructions on submitting this work will be provided at a later date.

Multiple abstract submissions can be made.

*PLEASE NOTE* As submissions will be blind reviewed, please do not include any identifying information in your uploaded abstract, abstract title or abstract summary.
The Scientific Committee will only communicate via email with the nominated contact for the abstract submission; therefore it is imperative that the details given in the address for correspondence section are accurate. It is expected that the contact person will communicate the outcome of the abstract submission with all authors.
It is a requirement that the nominated presenter of all successful abstract submissions is registered to attend the Conference. Register by 6 July 2017 to take advantage of the Early Bird Rate.
Accepted abstracts will be published in an online portal. Abstracts submitted for presentation will be published exactly as submitted. All submissions should be checked for accuracy and misspelling prior to submission.
