Institut Mérieux – International Society for Infectious Diseases

Young Investigator Award - 2018

Antibiotic resistance (ABR) is a major public health issue worldwide and innovative approaches to tackling resistant bacteria in humans, animals and the environment are urgently needed. For many years, the Institut Mérieux and its entities have been committed to the fight against antibiotic resistance and to the control of the spread of resistant infections. In order to provide an incentive for promising young investigators working in the field of ABR, Institut Mérieux allocates several awards worldwide to researchers or clinicians at the beginning of their carrier in recognition of a major achievement having significant impact on the handling of ABR.

In 2018, Institut Mérieux and the International Society for Infectious Diseases will award a joint Young Investigator Award of 10,000 Euros that will be given to the awardee during the 18th International Congress on Infectious Diseases/XVIII Congreso SADI in Buenos Aires, Argentina, March 1 to 4, 2018. Recognizing that the rising threat of AMR requires a multisectoral “One Health” approach, applications from young investigators from the human, veterinary, and environmental fields will be considered.
