2016 ECIS EDUCATORS CONFERENCE Cultivating Curiosity
16-19 November | BELLA CENTER | Copenhagen, Denmark

The theme for this year's conference is Cultivating Curiosity, not just from the viewpoint of inquiry, as a catalyst for learning, but also in trying to understand how we can nurture it within existing systems, or shift our systems to allow for curiosity and passion to grow and transform children. We hope you, too, will find this topic exciting and important, and we look forward to receiving your proposals.

Submission timeline:

  • Submission period is May 1 – June 10
  • Evaluation period: June 13 – June 24
  • Notification date: June 27

Adhering to our Supporting Effective Professional Learning framework, developed in collaboration with the Teacher Development Trust, we want our attendees to be the beneficiaries of evidence of learning and impact, so we are looking for collaborative presentations (i.e. co-presenters) to focus on student learning needs, with clarified learning objectives and an identified practical application of your topic. We will favour those proposals that meet these criteria below, and we encourage you to submit joint proposals with a colleague from a different subject area (if pursuing cross-disciplinary professional learning), school, or organisation.

Evaluation criteria:

  • Align with Cultivating Curiosity theme
  • Topic proposed focuses on student learning needs
  • Identified practical application of the topic
  • Measurable impact for the session - what will the evidence look like?
  • Preferred blend of proposals between cross-disciplinary and subject-specific approaches
