Program

African Americans have roughly twice the incidence of myeloma as white Americans, with recent studies finding that blacks are also less likely to receive the latest myeloma treatments or combination therapies, and more likely to encounter delays in receiving treatment, including transplants.

This is a free educational event where participants will learn the basics of myeloma including symptoms and how the disease progresses, as well as, current and emerging therapies in the treatment of multiple myeloma. Dr. Hamel will discuss tools to use when talking with your doctor to properly advocate for yourself.

We encourage you to invite your caregiver and family members.
