Program
Join us for a free conference for oncology healthcare professionals on current trends in blood cancer treatment and survivorship.
Goal: To provide a learning opportunity for oncology nurses and social workers to expand their knowledge about blood cancer treatment and survivorship.
Objectives: At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to:
Describe precision medicine used in the treatment of blood cancer Explain the role of advocacy for healthcare professionals working with cancer patients, and identify LLS Public Policy Goals Demonstrate an understanding of new approaches to bone marrow and stem cell transplant Define current and new treatments for pediatric blood cancer Summarize new treatment modalities used in the treatment of myeloma Discuss strategies for improving communication with patients/caregivers Provide resources for support of the patient and family throughout the treatment process and survivorship
Target Audience: Oncology nurses and social workers at all levels and licensure
Approval for nurses has been obtained by the National Office of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society under Provider Number CEP 5832 to award 4.0 continuing education contact hours through the California Board of Registered Nursing.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), Provider Number 1105, is approved as a provider for social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) www.aswb.org. Approved Continuing Education Program (ACE). Approval period: 12/10/2017 - 12/14/2020. LLS maintains responsibility for the program. Social workers should contact their regulatory board to determine course approval. Social workers will receive 4.0 CE clinical contact hours.
Upon completion of the conference and submission of the activity evaluation, a certificate of completion will be emailed to you within 30 days.
