2019 Psychiatry Symposium

WELCOME!

A message from the Chair and Planning Committee

The Department of Psychiatry is proud to announce the 2nd Annual Regional Symposium to bring all of us together again, to explore advancements in our field and integrate best practices into our patient care.
As you may know, last year’s debut symposium was an astounding success, largely because of an excellent response from all of you. We are therefore doubly excited to bring you this year’s symposium, with topics that will address several challenging areas in our practice, including:

  • Triple Threat – panel discussion on patients with chronic pain & dual diagnoses
  • Treatment-resistant Depression
  • Treatment Strategies for our Geriatric patients – working with the Beers list
  • Blue Mood & Hot Flashes – working with our pregnant & menopausal women
  • Gender-Affirming Care
  • Getting patients back-to-work
  • Wellness Topics – self compassion, wellness hacks for our daily use

Benefits of attending:

  • Discuss your most challenging cases with experts and SCPMG peers
  • Improve work efficiency, physician satisfaction and wellness
  • Incorporate successful practices into your own unique style
  • Meet and network with SCPMG Psychiatry colleagues
  • Return to practice with inspiration and renewed confidence (sleep well at night)

We are delighted about your interest in this event, and are excited about the thought leaders sharing their expertise this year. I look forward to seeing you at the symposium this fall!
