About our speakers

Craig Searle, co-founder, Hivint
Craig Searle is the Co-Founder of Hivint and SecurityColony. He has over 15 years of experience in the security industry, working in the finance, defence, telecommunications, national security and technology sectors. An alumni of the SIFT and Stratsec organisations, he was previously the Head of Cyber Security for the Asia Pacific region at BAE Systems Applied Intelligence. Craig is a self-professed ‘security geek’ with a background in penetration testing, system hardening and incident response. Craig has presented both locally and internationally, most recently presenting at: MilCIS 2016, ACSC 2016, ISC2 APAC Security Congress 2016 (Thailand) and WAHckon. Craig has also been quoted in media outlets such as: The Age, Australian Financial Review, The 7:30 Report and numerous industry publications.


Dean Carrigan, Partner, Clyde & Co.
Dean acts for vendors and purchasers in acquisitions and mergers of insurance companies in the region, and in respect of court approved business transfer schemes. He also provides regulatory and compliance advice to insurers/intermediaries and has acted for regulated entities in a number of regulatory investigations. He has extensive experience of dealing with regulators such as APRA, ASIC and the ACCC in relation to insurance sector companies wishing to conduct business in Australia and has particular expertise in the interface between the industry and regulators.

He has been involved in a number of significant, complex and reputationally critical insurance and reinsurance disputes including in respect of engineering, construction and valuer professional indemnity claims; industrial special risks coverage disputes; trade credit and political risk claims; and warranty and indemnity claims.

Dean is named as a leading insurance lawyer (Band 1) in Australia in Chambers Asia Pacific 2017 and Legal 500 Asia Pacific 201
