SEHA International Nursing Conference 2015

WELCOME MESSAGE

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the 4th SEHA International Nursing Conference. The theme of this year’s conference is “Innovate, Integrate and Motivate, Leading the Journey Toward Nursing Excellence,” with the goal to empower nurses, administration, and nursing students to integrate what you learn when you return to work the next day.

Nursing is a foundation of patient care. It is nurses who first greet patients, regularly take patient vitals, update physicians, and take hands-on care to each person. For this reason, we aim to bring the most innovative approaches and latest research in an exciting, two-day agenda. We hope you leave this conference motivated to improve the lives of your coworkers and patients in all new ways.

A special thanks goes out to the organizing, technical, and scientific committees which include my colleagues in 9 SEHA facilities for collaborating on this conference: Corniche Hospital, Al Rahba Hospital, Tawam Hospital, Ambulatory Health Services, SEHA dialysis Services, Al Gharbia Hospitals, Al Ain Hospital, Mafraq Hospital and Sheikh Khalifa Medical City. We extend gratitude to all of our speakers, sponsors, fellow nurses and those who are coming together to make this event possible.

Our nation’s founding father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan once said regarding education, "No matter how many buildings, foundations, schools and hospitals we build, or how many bridges we raise, all these are material entities. The real spirit behind the progress is the human spirit, the able man with his intellect and capabilities.” [1]

Continuing education is key to professional advancement and integral to providing the best patient care. We look forward to networking and learning alongside you all at the 4th SEHA International Nursing Conference.
