We would like to invite you to the Autumn meeting of the Scottish BGS.

The overarching themes of the meeting are patient safety, and balancing risk and benefit when caring for older people with multi-morbidity.
This will be a day packed with useful ideas that can be taken back to your own departments and hospitals. Don’t miss it!
Our programme contains stimulating and practice-changing presentations, with thought-provoking speakers, as well as platform and poster presentations, including the winner of the BGS trainees’ prize for best systematic review from the Evidence Based Medicine Day.
Topics will include:
• How to prevent and manage abuse of older people
• Burdens of treatment in patients with multiple co-morbidities
• Balancing risks of novel anticoagulant use
• Novel ways to reduce prescribing errors
A joint session with the NHS Research Scotland Ageing Specialty group will focus on:
• How research is altering the clinical care of older people
• Latest developments regarding Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment
• How to train in clinically relevant research.
