Americans with Disabilities Act-Compliant Hotel Rooms

Hyatt Regency Atlanta has a limited number of Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)-compliant hotel rooms. The need for ADA-compliant rooms will be high, and they will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. The hotel will try to assign patients to lower-floor rooms, as close as possible to elevators.

Wheelchair and Scooter Rental

If you need to rent a wheelchair or scooter for the conference, local rental companies include:

Heavenly Wheels

Lenox Medical Supply

Scoot Around

Wheelchair Assistance

The Hyatt Regency Atlanta is a large property that requires longer distances for walking. A limited number of volunteers will be available to transport attendees onsite with PHA-provided wheelchairs. This service will be available only to/from sessions. Wheelchairs won’t be for rent or available for transport other than to/from sessions.

At the airport

Hartfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport is one of the busiest airports in the world. Each of its seven terminals is more than a mile long, which might make walking difficult for some people with pulmonary hypertension. If you need wheelchair assistance to navigate the terminals, tunnels and underground train, contact your airline before you depart. Make sure you request wheelchair assistance at your home airport and in Atlanta for both legs of your trip.

Each airline has representatives to provide wheelchair assistance at the airport, but you might encounter long lines if you wait to request assistance at check-in.

On the day of your flight, get to the airport early in case you have to wait for a wheelchair.

Translation Services

Volunteer English/Spanish translators will be available onsite. Check back for updated information. General sessions on Friday and Saturday will have simultaneous interpretation in Spanish.

Refrigerators and Oxygen

All hotel rooms at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta contain mini-refrigerators. If you have additional requests, please note them at check-in.

If you require oxygen, please make arrangements with a provider prior to your arrival in Atlanta. The hotel can receive your pre-ordered oxygen supplies and deliver them to your room upon check-in.

Patient Rest Stop

The Patient Rest Stop is a quiet room for attendees who would like to take a break, require a cold ice pack or distilled water (available free of charge), or store their extra oxygen. The Patient Rest Stop will be open from 5 p.m. EDT, Wednesday, June 8, until noon EDT, Sunday June 12.

PHA doesn’t provide security or lockers for personal items. Leaving personal items, including oxygen, in the Patient Rest Stop is at your own risk.
