Jeff was recently appoionted to run UM's San Francisco office after serving UMSF's Lead Client Business Partner for the past two years. Before joining UM, Jeff was the Co-founder and CMO of the PBJS Advertising Agency from 2003-2008. At PBJS, Jeff headed up marketing, sales and the on-line advertising business which included clients such as AT&T, MSNBC, Smart Balance, Experian, CDW and Microsoft. PBJS advertising focused on the marriage of world-class creative and back-office optimization. Jeff was also on the forefront of creating new models for branded entertainment that provided both innovative advertising opportunities and stand-alone content vehicles. PBJS was sold to the Publics Group in August of 2008. Prior to PBJS, Jeff spent 6.5 years (1997-2003) at the Microsoft Corporation all within the MSN division, rising to Director of MSN Ad product Planning and Industry Development. Among his team's responsibilities were developing the advertising business strategies for all of MSN's on-line properties, creating innovative advertising technologies and driving the productization of data and audience segmentation. During his tenure, Jeff chaired the IAB Ad Sizes Committee which released the Universal Ad Package, providing the industry with much needed standards in creative implementation. Jeff started his career at BBDO NY (1994-1997) where he co-founded the BBDO Interactive Group (later to become Atmosphere), and helped introduse brands such as VISA, Federal Express, M&M Mars, General Electric, Pepsi and Pizza Hut to the Internet. He has lectured at the Kellogg School of Business management as well as spoken at several industry conferences including AD Tech, IMedia and the IAB National Conference. He is a graduate of Miami University of Ohio, where he majored in Political Science. He now resides in Menlo Park, California with his wife and three daughters.
