The Right Ventricle
in Critical Care

Tuesday October 27, 2015

Right ventricular compromise is common to an important -but underappreciated- set of clinical problems in contemporary critical care, including acute or chronic increases in ventricular afterload and primary ventricular failure. This mini-symposium, presented in collaboration with the Canadian Cardiovascular Society, the Canadian Cardiovascular Critical Care Society, and the Canadian Anesthesiologists' Society, brings expert focus to assessing priorities in acute pulmonary embolism, diagnosis and management in right ventricular infarction, practical and economic aspects of mechanical and pharmacologic support of the right ventricle, and will discuss the pros and cons to date of inhaled alternatives to nitric oxide. The presenters are outstanding speakers and are well-known experts in the field.
