Lunchtime Workshop

There's more to it than meets the eye - exploring the wealth of information on the Australian Indigenous Alcohol and Other Drugs Knowledge Centre
When: Tuesday 10 November 12.15pm - 12.45pm
Where: Golden Ballroom South, Pan Pacific Hotel
Cost: Free
Presenter: Avinna Trzesinski, Research Officer, Australian Indigenous HealthInfoNet, Edith Cowan University
Description: The Australian Indigenous Alcohol and Other Drugs Knowledge Centre (Knowledge Centre) is a national web resource that aims to support the alcohol and other drug (AOD) workforce, health practitioners, academics, policy-makers, and community members, to reduce harmful AOD use in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

This 30 minute interactive presentation will take delegates on a tour of the Knowledge Centre. It will show how to easily access information on alcohol, tobacco, illicit drugs, prescription drugs, and volatile substances, utilise specific resources for the health workforce and community members, plus much more!

This session will demonstrate the time-saving benefits of the Knowledge Centre, and equip delegates with the skills to obtain the AOD information needed to optimise their research and practice.

Ten iPads will be made available to use during the session, and delegates who have their own tablets are encouraged to bring them along to join in.
