 Due to the enthusiastic response, the 2011 U.S. Foreign Policy Colloquium (FPC) is almost full! The Colloquium is a rare opportunity to spend three days in Washington, D.C. with policy-makers, academics, business leaders, journalists and fellow Chinese graduate students from across the United States. Participants will not only come away with a deeper understanding of the complex forces that shape American foreign policy but also many new friends and connections.
The Honorable Gary Locke, Secretary of Commerce (invited), and His Excellency Zhang Yesui, Ambassador PRC (invited), will kick off the 2011 Colloquium at our Opening Reception on Wednesday, June 8. In the following days, participants will interact with speakers such as Admiral Timothy Keating, former Commander of U.S. forces in the Pacific and Dr. Michael Mussa, Senior Fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics. Participants will also have the chance to take part in a variety of site visits to destinations including the U.S. Senate, the Department of State, and the Department of Defense. The Colloquium is open to P.R.C. graduate students of any academic discipline currently studying in the United States. The $75 program registration fee will guarantee free housing for three nights, all meals (except for dinner on Thursday, June 9, when participants are able to go out and explore Washington independently), program materials, and a choice of site visit destinations. Travel Scholarships are also available to those individuals who must spend over $200 on travel to Washington.
