This final newsletter before the conference provides detail on micro grants and updates you with the news on registrations. CCBC is about making sure that resources are available to support service providers to gain the specialist knowledge required to facilitate the transition to NDIS in the New England region. The conference program is available by clicking here

Conference Stats

Our registrations are almost at capacity and we have attracted participants from across the New England region. We have attendees from Moree, Boggabilla, Narrabri, Inverell, Gunnedah, Glen Innes, Tamworth, Muswellbrook, Uralla and Armidale; as well as registrations from places such as Forster, Stockton, Goonellabah, Maitland, Newcastle and Toormina. Government and non-government service providers will be in attendance from diverse areas such as Education, Housing, Community Services and Disability Service providers, Allied Health providers, Mental Health Services and Accommodation Services.

Travel Safely

For those of you who are travelling across New England, we urge you to travel safely.  You can check this website for an update on local weather conditions. As well as the weather, please consider other hazards such as our country road conditions, wildlife on the road, accidents, breakdowns and other emergencies. We are very keen to ensure that every delegate arrives safely, sound and ready to realise the full benefits of the conference!

Registrations

Registrations are rapidly approaching capacity. Complimentary registrations closed on the 31st August and any unutilised registration codes have been returned for redistribution to the general registration pool.

General registrations close at midnight on Thursday, 8th September.

Are you registered?

If you are unsure if you are registered because you completed an Expression of Interest initially, but have not received a registration confirmation email or tax invoice, than you probably are not registered.

Please email or telephone Sarah Dixon on the contact details below if you wish to double check.

Otherwise register
here.

Please note the cancellation policy:

Cancellations must be received in writing to the email address below, prior to, or on 5th September 2016. You will receive a full refund of the registration fee, less 30% cancellation administration fee. We will contact you to discuss the refund method. Registration fees are non-refundable for cancellations received after 5th September 2016, other than in extenuating circumstances and with the approval of the Organising Committee. However, registrations are fully transferable to a substitute attendee at any time leading up to the event. Substitute details must be received in writing to the email address below.

Accommodation Subsidy

Our conference is offered on a cost neutral basis and any funding in excess of costs will be made available for micro grants.

In recognition of the size of the New England region for travel to Armidale for the conference, and the fact that many smaller service providers may face difficulties funding their attendance, an accommodation subsidy is available to support the costs of delegates who have a genuine need.

Delegates can apply for the accommodation subsidy by completing the short request form which is part of the registration process.

Please note that this subsidy is only available to paying delegates, and not available to delegates with complimentary registrations.

Micro Grants

At the conclusion of the conference the opportunity is available to apply for a limited number of micro grants. Micro grants are generally $5,000 or less and are offered for a range of activities which relate to the conference presentations.

Applications for a CCBC Micro-Grant are required to be around 1-2 pages only, and must address the following four requirements:

1.  Application must relate to a particular session of CCBC

a) How does it relate to CCBC?

b) From which session/s does your application relate to?

2.  Why are you unable to undertake this project utilising your existing funding?

a) Transition to NDIS, being paid in arrears etc. is not acceptable however applications for grants can be made to be used in conjunction with existing organisational funds. This would need to be outlined in your application.

b)  If you are applying for funding to undertake training why this is additional to training staff are normally required to undertake?

3.  Why this project?

a) What gap/s in your service or in the service continuum does this project address?

b) How have you identified the gap/s?

c)   How does your project take into consideration the needs of CALD & Aboriginal Communities in New England.

4.  How does your project build capacity within the sector in New England

a)  How will this change service results?

b)  How is this measureable?

Applications are to be submitted by 5th October 2016 to veronica.oreilly3@facs.nsw.gov.au

Generally, only one grant is available per organisation, however organisations can work together to access more than one grant or organisations can work together to access a single grant. If organisations working together are applying for more than one grant than the submission for additional grants should be submitted as one application.

The number of grants will be dependent on available funds after conference expenses have been deducted. It is anticipated that the average grant would be $5,000; however you can also apply for a smaller amount.

Exceptional applications up to a maximum $8,000 will be considered pending available funds.

Only applications that meet the 4 criterion will be considered.

A panel will consider each application and may seek further information in order to make a decision.

The acquittal requirement will be a short written report to evidence the implementation of the project, spending and outcomes. Further details will be provided to successful applicants.
