Study Week 2012

The Southwest Liturgical Conference will celebrate its 50th Anniversary of the Study Week, January 24th-27th, 2012, at the Sheraton Hotel in downtown Dallas, hosted by the Diocesan Liturgy Office.

Begun during the Second Vatican Council, the Southwest Liturgical Conference is the oldest continuous regional liturgical conference in the United States. The conference includes 27 dioceses from a seven state region. Each year, the SWLC Study Week is held at a different location in the region, highlighting the rich diversity of its people. Liturgists and those involved in ministry gather together to study and prayerfully celebrate the ritual nature of the tradition of our Catholic faith.

Dallas was the first diocese to host this event in 1963, Liturgy: History and Reform. In 1984, and again in 2005 we took the challenge. Now in 2012, we once again have the honor and pleasure of hosting this important historical event.

This particular study week opens in prayer on Tuesday evening, January 24th, and continues thru Friday, January 27th. The workshops will cover topics surrounding the different aspects of ministry with special interest issues for clergy, catechists and all who minister.
