Challenge yourself in 2012 – sign up for the Healthy Heart Challenge

Heart disease is the No. 1 killer of Australian women. To help raise awareness of women and heart disease, the Heart Foundation will be running the Healthy Heart Challenge – a free six week program to support Australian women to make small yet realistic lifestyle changes to improve their heart health.

There are four goals to choose from to improve your heart health:
  1. Be active every day
  2. Improve everyday nutrition
  3. Lower high cholesterol levels
  4. Lower high blood pressure
It’s free to sign up and you will receive fantastic tips, tools and ongoing support to help you achieve your goal. Why not make it fun and sign up with a friend or get your colleagues at work to do it with you.

Registrations open on 1 May 2012 with the Challenge to begin on Monday 4 June. To make sure you don’t miss out, sign up to our Go Red for Women e-newsletter to receive your reminder to register.

Last year over 17,000 people registered for the Challenge and achieved some fantastic results. Of the participants who completed a survey three months after the completion of the challenge:
  • 85% reported that they had increased their physical activity
  • 70% reported that they had lost weight
  • 53% reported that they had lowered cholesterol
  • 51% lowered blood pressure
