John P. Hoyt, FACHE, FHIMSS

Executive Vice President, HIMSS Analytics

John P. Hoyt is Executive Vice President, HIMSS Analytics at HIMSS, a global, cause-based, not-for-profit organization focused on better health through information technology (IT). HIMSS leads efforts to optimize health engagements and care outcomes using information technology. HIMSS represents approximately 52,000 individuals, of which more than two-thirds work in healthcare provider, governmental and not-for-profit organizations across the globe, plus over 600 corporations and 250 not-for-profit partner organizations, that share this cause. Mr. Hoyt is responsible for providing executive leadership and direction to HIMSS Analytics worldwide where he also provides direction for all Stage 6 and Stage 7 validations and derivative research.

Throughout his healthcare career, Hoyt has been instrumental in defining business and IT strategy as well as selecting, implementing and integrating mission-critical healthcare information systems across the enterprise. Before joining HIMSS, Hoyt served as a hospital Chief Operating Officer and twice as a Chief Information Officer with various healthcare organizations accumulating in over 22 years of hospital executive committee leadership experience. Mr. Hoyt served in consultancy practices, including: IBM Healthlink Services and First Data Health Systems Group.

Hoyt holds a BSBA in Economics from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio, and an MHA from St. Louis University in Missouri. He is a HIMSS Fellow and a Fellow and active member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE).



Klaus Boehncke

Executive Director eHealth Lead, South East Asia, PwC Consulting

Klaus leads PwC’s eHealth team in the South East Asia region. He has more than ten years experience in the field. He has advised large scale national eHealth transformation strategies and programs in Germany, Singapore, Hong Kong and Australia, where he also assisted the National Health and Hospitals Reform Commission. In addition, he advised several states and hospital systems on their acute care systems planning. Klaus has deep expertise in particular around benefits realisation of IT throughout the entire healthcare ecosystem and is a key strategic thinker driving new business models. He often speaks at HIMSS conferences and is also an adjunct senior lecturer at the School of Medicine of the University of Notre Dame in Australia.

In addition to his experience in healthcare and information technology, Klaus has a twenty year background spanning strategy consulting in telecommunications and financial services as well as multi-year venture capital and private equity experience.



Dr. Michael Bainbridge

Adjunct Professor Clinical Informatics, University of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada

Clinical Architect and Director, ASE Consulting Australia Pty. Ltd.

Dr. Michael Bainbridge has been a leading figure in Clinical Informatics for 25 years working both for both Governments and Industry. He has designed and brought to market Clinical Computer Systems for Primary Care. He worked with both BMA and UK Government in the 2003 negotiation of the Quality-based National General Practitioner Contract. He founded and was the Technical Director of the UK National PRIMIS initiative delivering key educational and data quality interventions into over 8000 practices. He recently led the Clinical Architecture and Assistive Technology teams at NHS Connecting for Health (NHS CFH UK) delivering innovations in hardware design, clinical interface design and interfaces for the both professionals and citizens to the electronic medical record.

He continues to 'evangelise' safety and usability from Open Common Interface Components in both his consulting and academic roles. He is currently working with NEHTA in Sydney on the Implementation of e-health and the PCEHR to support Healthcare Reform with special responsibilities currently for the national roll-out of eMedication management as well as standardising Terminology across Australia. In addition to his UK and Australian work, he has recently worked at high level with several other governments on their e-health strategies notably Brazil, Egypt and Saudi Arabia.



Peter Edelstein, M.D., FACS, FASCRS

Chief Medical Officer, Elsevier Clinical Solutions

Peter Edelstein, MD, FACS, FASCRS, is board certified by both the American College of Surgeons and the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgery. Prior to joining Elsevier Clinical Solutions, Dr. Edelstein was as an award winning educator and surgeon who practiced in both academic and private settings. He then spent greater than a decade in Silicon Valley serving as an executive (including President & CEO) in venture-backed, medical device start-up companies. Next, he served as a physician executive leader in a large non-profit health system. Dr. Edelstein then joined Elsevier, helping guide MEDai, a leading clinical predictive analytics company. Dr. Edelstein is now proud to serve as Chief Medical Officer for Elsevier Clinical Solutions, partnering with healthcare leaders in improving the value of care delivery through the integration of Elsevier’s powerful reference and workflow provider solutions and advanced patient engagement products. In addition to authoring Own Your Cancer and other books and articles, “Dr. E” is a nationally recognized and engaging expert on patient empowerment, appearing regularly on television, radio, and in print.



Rajendra Pratap Gupta, B.A.(Hons), B.Sc, M.A. (Innovation & Change Management)

Leading Public Policy Expert & Chairman, Innovation Working Group - Asia

Rajendra Pratap Gupta is a global thought leader & serves on the World Economic Forum's Global agenda Council - Digital Health, a member of the advisory group / TRG of the Union Ministry of Health & Family welfare, Government of India, also serves on several healthcare boards across USA, Europe & India. In 2012, Rajendra was ranked amongst the top 10 healthcare leader of the decade by a leading healthcare magazine in South Asia & presented with 'Global Healthcare Leader of the Year' Award by the Sheriff of Los Angeles, USA in April'12.
