Bernard C. Soriano is the deputy director and CIO for the California Department of Motor Vehicles. He has over 25 years of engineering and management experience in the private sector and public sector. His previous positions include engineering and management at Hughes Space and Communications in Los Angeles where he designed satellite control systems. He was also the assistant technical director at the USGA Research and Test Center in New Jersey. In the public sector, Bernard was the CIO for the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection and the Office of the Secretary of State. In addition, he was the information technology task force leader on Governor Schwarzenegger’s California Performance Review.
Bernard holds a Ph.D. in Engineering from U.C. Irvine, an M.B.A. from California State University, Sacramento, an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Southern California, and a B.S. in Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering from U.C. Davis. He was a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy Reserve and has numerous publications and patents. His honors and achievements include selection as a finalist in the NASA astronaut program.

She was also responsible for the commercial launch of Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2 and Exchange 2010 in the US. Prior to joining Microsoft, Amy worked as a project leader at the Boston Consulting Group, where she specialized in the pharmaceutical and IT industries. She started her career as a software engineer developing on-board diagnostics for satellite navigation systems, and she has published multiple papers on applications of artificial intelligence to spacecraft subsystems. Stockslager joined First Data in 1997 and is vice president of Client Care and Implementation Support focusing on Boarding Tool Strategy and Support. Previously at First Data, Stockslager was vice president of Process Excellence, driving internal process improvement and reducing costs with technology that provides better automated service to customers. There, he led a rapid prototyping team to design and build a proof of concept application for military logistic management. In this role, Gallant oversees the editorial leadership at CIO, CFOworld.com, CSO, Computerworld, InfoWorld, ITworld and Network World to set content strategy and ensure that the brands continue to serve their respective audiences with the best products and services in the industry. Gallant also helps drive IDG Enterprise's strategic efforts around social media and social media marketing.
Gallant, one of Network World’s founders, was formerly president and editorial director for the company. He has been named by Technology Marketing magazine as one of the most influential people in computer journalism, and was cited as one of the “most visionary editors-in-chief” by Press Access. Gallant was also cited as Best Conference Host by Conferenza for his role as Executive Producer for the Vortex conference. Gallant’s expertise in covering the technology industry has been tapped by top-tier media outlets, including CNN, CNNfn, CNBC, NPR, and Bloomberg. He often hosts roundtable discussions on technology and other topics for a wide variety of organizations. Gallant also co-chairs the executive committee of the Boston College Technology Council.
Galen Gruman is InfoWorld's executive for news and features, as well as its consumerization and mobile columnist. Galen has covered technology in business since 1982 for a variety of publications, including IEEE Software, Macworld, Computerworld, M-Business, Upside, CIO Magazine, Technology Forecast Quarterly, and of course InfoWorld. He also speaks regularly at the CIO Global Forum and other conferences and has written or co-authored more than two dozen how-to books on desktop publishing, Mac OS X, and iOS.

An award-winning IT journalist and editorial executive, Maryfran Johnson has been editor in chief of CIO magazine and events since January 2009. This unique dual role combines strategic direction of the leading publication for chief information officers with all editorial content for CXO Media's extensive portfolio of national and regional events. Maryfran also serves as the conference moderator for the CIO 100 Symposium, The CIO Leadership Event and the regional series of CIO Perspectives Forums, launched in 2008.
Maryfran brings more than 20 years of experience covering IT leadership, technology and business trends to her role. She previously served in leadership positions as editor in chief of Computerworld (1999-2004) and founding editor of CIO Decisions magazine (2004-2007). Since the mid-1990s, Maryfran has been featured in media interviews as an expert commentator on IT/business leadership issues. She frequently serves as a guest speaker and moderator at industry conferences, where she is known for her engaging stage presence and deep knowledge of IT executive issues. She was the first national winner in 2004 of American Business Media's Timothy White Award for editorial integrity, and in 2005 was named one of the “21 Most Intriguing People in Publishing" by Min’s B2B Magazine.

Julia King is an award-winning business and technology journalist with more than 20 years experience covering a wide range of topics, from IT executive leadership and technology workforce management to cloud and grid computing, business intelligence and data analytics technology and IT return on investment models. Ms. King was the founding executive editor of the award-winning ComputerworldROI magazine and spearheaded Computerworld’s coverage of information economics. Prior to joining Computerworld in 1994, Ms. King worked for nearly a decade as a reporter and writer for national business and technology magazines. She also worked for five years as a daily newspaper reporter and later, as a features writer and editor. Her IT reporting has earned her a Jesse H. Neal Award, often referred to as the Pulitzer Prize of the business press. She is also the recipient of numerous editorial awards from the American Society of Business Press Editors. She is a frequent presenter and panel moderator at industry conferences and the chairperson of Computerworld’s flagship IT Leadership Conference, the Premier 100. She is editor of a book titled Executives’ Guide To The Wireless Workforce, which was published by John Wiley & Sons. Ms. King holds a Master's Degree in International Relations and a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science, both from University of Pittsburgh. She is based in Ridley Park, Pa.
