Event Description

Join the IIA Florida West Coast Chapter as we welcome Leslie C. Kirsch from the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. This webinar is set up into two parts; Why good people do bad things and Servant leadership for auditors. Leslie is an author of professional ethics, ethics education, and the future of workforce development. Leslie is also a doctoral candidate Human and Organizational Learning, studying ethical leadership and fraud. We are fortunate and thrilled to have her present to our chapter!

Session Overview:

In this two-part presentation, Leslie walks participants through the science of fraud perpetration and servant leadership. In “Why Good People Do Bad Things,” attendees will learn about how people make ethical decisions in the workplace, and what research says we should do to if we want to prevent fraud. In “Servant Leadership for Auditors” attendees will learn all about what servant leadership is, and how auditors can live its principles at work.

After this session, participants will be able to:

  • Identify the components of the fraud triangle and ethical decision-making models,
  • Describe the principles of servant leadership, and
  • Apply the science of fraud and leadership in their roles as auditors.
