Call for Papers

The Donald F. Richardson Memorial Prize Paper Award Call for Papers is currently underway. Submitting your research paper to District II enters you in this highly acclaimed national contest. Final winners (2) will receive $2,000 to cover expenses to attend the 2020 Annual Clinical & Scientific Meeting in Seattle. WA, April 24-27, 2020 where they will present their research.

District II's Junior Fellow Task Force on Awards will judge abstracts submitted, selecting one finalist who will present their research to meeting attendees during the Annual District II Meeting on Saturday, October 19, Grand Hyatt New York. The finalist's research paper will then be submitted as District II's sole entry in the national Donald F. Richardson Memorial Prize Paper Award Call for Papers. Two winners from the twelve Districts will be selected by the National Committee on Awards, each receiving a $2,000 award to cover expenses to attend the 2020 Annual Clinical & Scientific Meeting where they will present their research.

The two winning authors of the Donald F. Richardson Memorial Prize Paper Award are also encouraged to submit their papers to the editor of Obstetrics and Gynecology for possible publication.

Guidelines

 
  • To be eligible to enter the Donald F. Richardson Memorial prize Paper Award, the presenting author must be a Junior Fellow of ACOG District II.
  • Abstracts must be original work and must not have been published prior to May 2020.
  • The Richardson Award finalist must present their research to meeting attendees at the Annual District II Meeting, Saturday, October 19, Grand Hyatt New York City at Grand Central Station.
  • After the Annual District II Meeting, a full research paper, which conforms to the information for authors from the journal Obstetrics & Gynecology, must be submitted in electronic format to Elizabeth Morris, ACOG District II office, emorris@ny.acog.org, by Tuesday, November 12, 2019. The District Chair will submit the research paper as District II's sole entry to the ACOG national office.
  • If selected as one of two winners by the ACOG National Committee on Awards, the author will present their research paper at the 2020 Annual Clinical & Scientific Meeting, April 24-27, 2020, in Seattle, WA.

District II entry in the Donald F. Richardson Memorial Prize Paper Award
must be submitted to ACOG by the District Chair or his/her designee.
