SHOW CONCEPT

Textile Center, a national center for fiber art, announces a call for entries for an international quilt exhibition celebrating the legacy of Prince, the artist and his music. The exhibition at Textile Center in Minneapolis will open March 9, 2017, and run through April 29, 2017, in the Joan Mondale Gallery.

On April 21, 2016, Minnesota lost one of its great cultural icons, and Textile Center’s exhibition will celebrate Prince’s life in observance of the first anniversary of his death. 

This is exhibition will be juried by Dr. Carolyn Mazloomi, a Bess Lomax Hawes National Heritage Fellow, founder of the Women of Color Quilters Network (WCQN), 2016 inductee to the Quilters Hall of Fame Museum, and member of Textile Center’s National Artist Advisory Council.
 
Artists must be age 18 and older to submit an art quilt for jury consideration.

CRITERIA & ELIGIBILITY

We are seeking art quilts that align with Studio Art Quilt Associates (SAQA) definition: “A creative visual work that is layered and stitched or that references this form of stitched layered structure.” To read more about criteria, eligibility, and schedule, please click here.

APPLICATION

• Entry fee is $50 ($40 for Textile Center members). Fee must be paid by Dec. 29, 2016, in order to qualify for Call for Entry.
