What does a pathway to a long-term career in the fundraising sector look like? What role does mentorship, leadership and good management play in supporting young fundraisers? How can young fundraisers make the most of the moment and thrive in their role?


Delivered by 2019 Young Fundraiser of the Year, Alan White CFRE, this webinar is both for young fundraisers, and their senior counterparts. We’ll discuss solutions to overcoming the challenges of retaining young fundraisers, tips and tricks for young fundraisers to ensure their work is meaningful and fulfilling and the role of innovation and impact in nurturing talent.

Having begun in the fundraising profession straight out of university, Alan is passionate about helping young fundraisers develop their career pathways in the sector. Alan has spent the last eight years developing fundraising programs and teams that enable organisations to meet their mission. His expertise are in the education, health and humanitarian sectors, with a focus on cash appeals and individual giving, community fundraising, peer 2 peer and events, mid-donor programs and strategic partnerships.

In a variety of roles, Alan has forged a strong career within the sector at a young age, developing program activity that has seen year-on-year growth across organisations and is currently Manager – Fundraising Programs at the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre, where he has overseen 42% income growth.

Alan is a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE), sits on the FIA Board of Directors, Victorian FIA State Committee, on the board of the Melbourne Queer Film Festival and the Fundraising and Marketing sub-committee of Plan International’s Board.

In 2018, Alan was named one of Fundraising & Philanthropy Magazine’s “Movers and Shakers and in 2019, Alan had the privilege of being named Australian Young Fundraiser of the Year at the FIA National Awards of Excellence.
