This year’s gathering will provide the practical tools needed to discover your communication and behavior style, as well as the styles of your congregation. Understanding the values and vocabulary of each of the four DiSC profiles will equip pastors to better understand their congregation, improve church finances, recruit volunteers, communicate more effectively with “difficult” people, and experience renewed passion for ministry.

Everything DiSC Workplace Profile: After registering for this year’s clergy retreat, you will receive an online link to take the updated Everything DiSC Workplace Profile; the cost of the profile will be covered by the NWTX Conference as an investment in your ministry.

Your Everything DiSC Workplace Profile will provide deep insights about your pace, priority, preferences and perspective. You’ll discover what motivates and what stresses you out. Finally, you’ll discover how this impacts group dynamics and congregational culture. And vice versa. You’ll grow in self-awareness, understanding, acceptance and forgiveness. You’ll also begin to understand what makes others tick. It’s like having a secret power!

This Year’s Guest Speaker is Rebekah Simon-Peter is an ordained United Methodist minister and creator of the award-winning leadership program, Creating a Culture of Renewal. Rebekah is a member of International Coaching Federation, and she holds certifications as an Everything DiSC and 5 Behaviors of a Cohesive Team Authorized Partner from Wiley, as well as their highest credential for coaches and trainers. She is also certified as an Online Instructor for the Richard and Julia Wilke Institute for Discipleship.

Bishop Earl Bledsoe will lead us in worship through prayer, preaching and serving Holy Communion. His sermon will be on caring for ourselves and for one another, and he will also close our retreat on Wednesday with a time of informal sharing regarding the vision and strategic planning of the NWTX Conference.

We will also enjoy a message from Ross Whiteaker, pastor of The Branch UMC in Abilene, as well as worship to refresh your soul and free time to connect with friends.
